Navratri: The reason behind worship of Goddess Katyayani in its 6th day

Maa Katyayani is worshiped on the sixth day of Navratri. By worshiping and worshiping them, devotees easily get the four fruits of Artha, Dharma, Kama and Moksha. His disease, grief, anguish and fear are destroyed. All the sins of birth are also destroyed.

 This goddess is worshiped on the sixth day of Navratri. In the Katya gotra, the world famous Maharishi Katyayan worshiped Bhagwati Paramba. He did hard penance. He wanted to have a daughter. Mother Bhagwati took birth in his house as a daughter. 

Hence this goddess was called Katyayani.  His specialty is research.  That is why in this scientific age, the importance of Katyayani becomes most important.  By his grace all the work gets completed.  She appeared and worshiped at a place called Vaidyanath.  Mother Katyayani is unfailingly fruitful.

 The gopis of Braj worshiped him to get Lord Krishna as their husband.  This puja was performed on the banks of Kalindi Yamuna.  That is why she is revered as the presiding deity of Brajmandal.  Their form is very grand and divine.  They are as bright as gold and are phosphorous.

 

 He has four arms.  The upper hand on the right is in Abhaya Mudra and the lower hand is in Vara Mudra.  The mother's left hand holds a sword in the upper hand and a lotus flower is adorned in the lower hand.  His vehicle is also a lion.  By worshiping and worshiping them, devotees easily get the four fruits of Artha, Dharma, Kama and Moksha.

 

 The disease, grief, anguish and fear of the devotees are destroyed.  All the sins of birth are also destroyed.  That is why it is said that by worshiping this goddess one attains the supreme position. 

• Story of Katyayani Mata: 

 According to the legend, Maharishi Katyayan did severe penance for Mother Adishakti. Pleased with his penance, Goddess Durga granted him a boon to be born as his daughter. Goddess Durga was born in the ashram of Maharishi Katyayan. Sage Katyayan took care of the mother only. At that time, Goddess Durga was born from the brilliance of the trinity.

 Goddess Durga was born at the place of sage Katyayan on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. After this Sage Katyayan worshiped his daughter i.e. Goddess Durga for three days. After some time when the atrocities of the demon Mahishasura increased a lot. Then it was Mother Katyayani who killed him and liberated the gods.

• Worship Method:

Install the idol or photo of Maa Katyayani on the post of Navratri.  Sprinkle Gangajal on the Deity and pray to the mother to come.  Then light a lamp, incense and incense sticks.  While meditating on Maa Katyayani, chant her mantras.  After this read or listen to Durga Stuti, Durga Chalisa and Durga Kathas.  Then do the aarti of Maa Durga.  Also do aarti of Maa Katyayani.  Then offer food to the mother.  Celebrate the puja with the chants of Goddess Durga and her nine forms.

Devotees offer Honey to the Goddess along with sandalwood pulp, fruits, betel nuts, fragrant garlands, and incense to seek her blessings.
